Wolfie

Here is Wolfie aged 31 months,
bathed and brushed for the portrait, we must admit it is not
his daily look !

After living more than 20 years
with bearded collies and trying to learn the more we could about
the breed,we considered it would be interesting to try reminding
these mythical dogs from the beginnings, as the standard and the
first pioneers describe them.
It was a real adventure that led us to Wales
by Dr Lynne Sharpe the worldwide known Brambledale kennel.Like
us, Lynne deplores the present evolution of the breed and wishes
to keep the brains, the true temperament and the morphology as
described in the standard of the breed.
She knew Mrs Willison and reared the last
Bothkenar litter, devoting her life to beardies and breeding some
of the most influential dogs in UK and abroad.
Nowadays she decided with the determination
and intransigence which are hers, to find again the qualities
and characteristics of Britt, Bravo…
She chooses the sires for
their true working abilities, the dogs are raw fed and initiated
to work since a very young age, spend hours outside by all weathers.
True connoisseurs will be able to appreciate and understand her
work. |

His father, Elan Jim a true farm dog in the Ela Valley merle coated.

Here he is, 6 months old, 23 Kg and very
interesting herding abilities : eying, fascination for everything
moving, very calm and courageous obedient, good nose, loves people
and children, very intelligent and very good abilities to improvise
when working. |
Brambledale Black Bob
dit Wolfie (ci-dessus)
Here he is 3 months old
and and has just arrived from Wales.
Bred by Lynne Sharpe his father (opposite) and grandfather are
working dogs, his father is blue merle. His mother is bred on
Brambledale lines.

3 months

His grandfather on the
mother side Butler’s Don working dog too.

Good textured and not
too abundant hair on the head, not too much undercoat, very easy
to groom (he loves it!) good muscle structure and already well
developed breast. Wolfie is by now like we were waiting for…
more information nextly. |
After passing successfully all the stages of an initial
registration (the register is still open in France), Wolfie
got his registration at the LOF (Livre des origines françaises)
which allows him to get registered offspring.
We sincerely thank the french Bearded Collie Club and
the french Kennel Club for their openmindedness which
will allow Lynne’s work to figure again in the official
records of the breed.

this is cosmetic!)
